Knock 'Em Dead Red!

It seems the frequency of memorable TV moments have been on the decline in the internet age. I'll never forget as a young kid when my Dad made me stay up to watch Johnny Carson's final episode of the Tonight Show. I can still see us together in the room, watching Carson emerge through that technicolor-rainbow velvet curtain for the last time to such an incredible outpouring of love, admiration and gratitude.

Here's hoping tonight turns out to be another one of those lovely moments in TV history as Conan O'Brien takes over the Tonight Show helm.

In anticipation, here's a great piece on Conan's transition from the NY Times Magazine.

Never watched the show after Johnny left. Leno just looked to me to be "telling jokes," as opposed to Dave, or Johnny, who were just genuinely funny in their natural mannerisms.

I like Conan's skits, at least.

If you are over 39 the Mercury doesn't want your meatspace to contribute.
