Oregon's Defending The American Dream Summit

Posted by Matt Davis on Wed, Jun 3, 2009 at 5:39 PM

I've been talking non-stop since last Friday about the Oregon Defending the American Dream summit in Salem, to anyone who'll listen. For example, I saw this there:

DEFENDING THE DREAM SUMMIT: ACTUALLY HAPPENED IN SALEM LAST FRIDAY...

Speakers included Joe "the plumber" Wurzelbacher and even Grover Norquist, the architect of W.Bush's tax cuts. If you're interested to hear what 400 conservatives talked about all day, check out this week's news section.

Also in this week's paper: Sarah Mirk contacted all 15 members of the Lents Urban Renewal Advisory Committee to ask them what they think of the proposed baseball stadium in their neighborhood. It turns out, they're split. Read that story here. Mirk is headed out to the Lents Park protest as I type, so check back to Blogtown for an update in the morning.

Oh, my. I feel so, so sorry for those people. But then, if they'd subject themselves to yr rants, maybe they deserve it.

Hope you really enlightened them, knowing so much firsthand about the Reagan 80's.
