Homo Signs of Pride

Spotted last evening at the Safeway on SW 10th and Jefferson. Do you think LGBT Pride weekend might be upon us?

Almost! But before you gear up for the gayest weekend all year, consult the Mercury's 2009 Queer Guide, and take note of the following things especially:

*The '09 Black Pride party kicks off tomorrow with an opening reception, forum and "Jill Scott Viewing Party" (haaaaay!!) from 5:30 pm onward at Crush, 1412 SE Morrison.

*This Saturday's Dyke March pre-march entertainment has been cancelled, so don't show up expecting any bands that we promised in our queer guide mega-calendar (the organizers say they had "difficulties obtaining necessary permits"). So if you're dyke-y or just wanna party with the ladies, gather at the North Park Blocks, NW 9th and Davis, starting around 6 pm. The march steps off at 7!

*Word on the street is that queer improv god Brad Fortier's two-night only engagement of his new solo show, "Glory Hole-llelujah," is nearly sold out. So run don't walk to buy your tickets here.

Now go forth and be prideful!
