From the police bureau's spokeswoman, Mary Wheat:

Officer Joseph Wild was charged with 71 counts of Official Misconduct in the Second Degree and 62 counts of Telephonic Harassment. Officer Wild was most recently assigned to North Precinct.
This investigation began when a female victim began getting unwanted harassing phone calls and she filed a report concerning the matter. The report was followed up on and the investigation led to the possible identification of a City of Portland employee. Portland Police Detectives began an investigation and during their investigation, discovered additional victims who had also received unwanted harassing telephone calls. The investigation led to the arrest of Officer Wild.
Detectives found no information to suggest that any other officer was aware of or condoned any of Officer Wild’s conduct.
