So How Do We Feel About "Thicket of Lies"?

Posted by Sarah Mirk on Tue, Jun 23, 2009 at 11:31 AM

One thing to come out of the Attorney General report is that the Oregonian is pissed. The paper, along with most others in town, called on Adams to resign in January and has stayed harshly critical of Adams since then — calling Portland "virtually mayorless" in an editorial on Saturday.

So how about the paper's front page today? My first reaction was that by placing "thicket of lies" over Sam's super-zoomed contrite face, it's tough to tell just from looking at the headline who is lying - Sam or Beau.

The other is that while city commissioners are telling Portlanders to get over the scandal and move on, the Oregonian definitely isn't letting the issue drop. Thicket of lies! Solemn language for a solemn situation.
