Hey Musicians, Want to be the Next Blazers Band?

I wasn't a big fan of the musical acts that preempted Portland Trail Blazers broadcasts last year (Curtis Selgado, Western Aerial, Southern Nights, Double Wide... can we trade any of these acts—with Steve Blake—for Gerald Wallace?), but thankfully the franchise is holding auditions for new talent:

Calling all local musicians!!

The Portland Trail Blazers are in search of local musicians and bands to perform their unique version of the popular Trail Blazers broadcasting theme music for the 2009-2010 NBA Season. The familiar theme music sets the stage at the beginning of every Trail Blazers game broadcast by energizing the fans for another exciting night.

Last season, each Trail Blazers broadcast began with performances by local bands such as Curtis Selgado, Western Aerial, Southern Nights and Double Wide. The original and unique versions of the Trail Blazers theme music these bands created were seen by hundreds of thousands of Trail Blazers viewers on KGW News Channel 8 and Comcast SportsNet.

This season, the Trail Blazers need new bands and musicians with a creative, high-energy style to pump up the viewers. Everyone is invited to submit their entry; from classical to pop, jazz to hip hop, or acoustic to rock, your style is wanted!

If you think your band has what it takes, and is willing to fill out a waiver, visit this site for all the details.
Good luck.
