Building Steam: Top Iranian cleric joins critics of the election-mangling current regime and demands it release political prisoners.

Oregon Trees - Safe for Now: After okaying logging in Alaska yesterday, the Obama admin reverses Bush-era decisions to expand logging in Oregon.

War Torn: As Oregon ships out another round of soldiers to Iraq, more returning veterans are dealing with mental illness.

Shoe-In: Analysts predict a swift confirmation of Sonia Sotomayor in August, despite certain Republicans continued harping on her race and background. Which Republicans? Jon Stewart explains:

"No Excuses! No Excuses!" Obama tells N.A.A.C.P. audience that growing up poor is no excuse for bad grades.

This is An Actual Headline: "Jumbo flying squid - aggressive 5-foot-long sea monsters with razor-sharp beaks and toothy tentacles - have invaded the shallow waters off San Diego."

Those heading to Comic-Con next week need not worry about the squid. By preview night, Zack Snyder will have changed it to a cheesy James Bond villain.

High speed rail needs to run for Portland to Seattle first. With true high speed you could live either place and work or go to school in the other.
