GO TO THE HURT LOCKER TONIGHT.

Posted by Erik Henriksen on Mon, Jul 20, 2009 at 1:45 PM

The Hurt Locker screens at the Hollywood tonight, with director Kathryn Bigelow in attendance for a Q&A. The proceeds are going to the Portland Women's Film Festival (POW Fest). In other words: Here's your chance to see a really kickass movie, and then hear a really kickass director talk about it, and it's for a good cause. The official press release-y details:

The pre-show reception and silent auction kicks off at 6 pm, followed by the screening of The Hurt Locker at 7:30 pm. All events will take place at Portland’s historic Hollywood Theatre located at 4122 NE Sandy. Tickets for the event are $20 (includes reception and auction) or $12 for the screening only and can be obtained at powfest.com as well as the Hollywood Theatre box office. For more information, go to powfest.com.

Yeah. Go.

I went. It was pretty cool. I always forget how shitty the hollywood's sound is, luckily I had already seen the film elsewhere. The Q&A was good, once that brainless moron from the Oregonian shut up. Also, Gus Van Sant was there.
