Mercury / Tech IT Support Staff: Geniuses

Yesterday we got a little preoccupied with the discussion of whether or not all IT support staff are assholes. This morning, this happened. I'm on Patrick's computer.

I would like to clarify that my feelings on the IT support staff at the Mercury could not be further from asshole-dom. Our IT support staff are Gods. Like Greek Gods, really. Now...where's that phone number...

Yesterday, most of us got preoccupied with whether or not you have to psychic ability to intuit racist intent into a situation where there is no evidence of racist intent.

Perhaps you were preoccupied with IT workers being assholes, which would certainly explain why you were unable to respond to several call for clarification about what the fuck you were talking about.

Why is the Merc using sub-standard hardware? Those plastic Macbooks are jokes. Just buy a high end Asus and put a decent OS on it.

I'm curious about the merc's censorship policy, because it seems to be inconsistently enforced. Why does [DELETED: EXCESSIVELY OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE] get censored while asshole gets a pass? Is one word more dangerous or more intrinsically offensive than another? Words are just words, right?

Look at these three words or phrases and tell me which one YOU think is the most offensive.

Now you see what happens when you don't let your IT staff make meaningless fun of people outside; they turn their attention inside instead. Hmm.. what color are your IT people? Racist attack? Nah... but I still wouldn't fuck with em'. IT jokes are cruel.

Oh, and yeah I'm in IT, non-racist, and think it's time to step up your hardware as well.
