Bob Dylan is Coming to Portland

Lingerie pitchman, and the honorary fifth member of the Black Eyed Peas, Bob Dylan will be ruining his once pristine legacy performing at Memorial Coliseum on October 7th. Modern day Dylan shows are notoriously bad—unless you love mumbling medleys and taking a nap in your seat—but people like me still go because he's the greatest songwriter ever and we all secretly fear missing that one show—the first in decades—when he turns back into that fiery singer that once led the Rolling Thunder Revue.

Oh, tickets go on sale next Monday.

End Hits: Blasphemy!

Many are mumblefests, but the last time I saw him he and his band were on fire. I fear going because I don't want to wreck that memory.

it's turned into a bit of cliche, but where would this place be without "for clarification:" and all the rest...

Don't do it! His shows have sucked for 20 years. I saw him with Steve Earle once and Earle was infinitely better. This was during Steve Earle's heroin phase, mind you.

But you never know. Ben Linus could turn the donkey wheel right at the precise moment and transport you back to 1965. That's a 70 dollar risk worth taking.

Townes Van Zandt was a better songwriter.
Stay home and listen to Live At The Old Quarter instead.
