Now that he is rested and has polished off that virgin Blue Hawaiian, Greg Oden and the rest of the Portland Trail Blazers are gearing up for the 2009-2010 season. They'll start the 82-game journey at the Rose Garden—their first opening home game in seven years—on October 27th against the Houston Rockets. The last time those two teams met, things didn't go so well, but this off-season has been particularly rough for Houston (goodbye Ron Artest, farewell Yao Ming) and the Blazers should be better prepared this time around.
Other facts about this season's schedule: 17 games will be wrestled away from the evil grip of Comcast for national broadcast (six on TNT, 10 on ESPN, and holyfreakingchrist a national game against the Lakers April 11th on ABC), and the team wraps up their 82-0 season (I might need to work on my predictions) April 14th at home against the Golden State Warriors.
