Good Morning, YA Fiction.

It's a fine day for fans of the young adult novel.

First off, Frank Portman, i.e. Dr. Frank, Mr. T Experience frontman, lyrical lodestar of my early teens and author of the YA novel King Dork, has just released the theme song for his new book, Andromeda Klein. (It's no "Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba," but what is.) Dr. Frank will be in Portland in on September 15, bafflingly reading at the Barnes and Nobel in Clackamas. (Am I the only twentysomething in town with a soft spot for this dude? Can't we book him a late show somewhere... better?)

Secondly, the trailer for Youth in Revolt just hit the streets. Aaaand it looks pretty much exactly like it should. I take back the mean things I said about Michael Cera—if this trailer is any indication, he's perfectly up to the challenge of playing the effete, oversexed fourteen-year-old Nick Twisp, whose pursuit of Sheenie Saunders leads him to create an alter ego named Francois Dillinger:
