NOBODY LOSES An interview with all the candidates for North Portland's vacant senate seat. We even made an endorsement, because we're not chickenshit: Jo Ann Bowman for state senate!

NORTH PORTLAND'S WOULD-BE SENATORS...PHOTO BY DAVID REAMER

DEBATING FOR DOLLARS Sarah Mirk has a fascinating roundup of lobbyists' spending in Salem over the course of the most recent legislative session—the Mercury was the only media outlet to request the data, would you believe.

IN HARM'S WAY Sean Breslin has more details on the suit bought against the Department for Human Services alleging shocking neglect in a foster care situation.

My column is on "micro-managing" the petulant Portland Police Bureau, and there's breakers on the Columbia River Crossing, a bike crash victim, not to mention Mayor Sam Adams allegedly flipping out at a recall protester (he denied doing so via Twitter, as astute Blogtown readers already know).

Read the goddamn news.
