Banning Abortion...

Posted by Dan Savage on Tue, Oct 13, 2009 at 4:28 PM

...doesn't reduce the number of abortions.

Restricting the availability of legal abortion does not appear to reduce the number of women trying to end unwanted pregnancies, a major report suggests. The Guttmacher Institute's survey found abortion occurs at roughly equal rates in regions where it is legal and regions where it is highly restricted.

Banning abortion only makes abortions more dangerous and kills women—which is what many opponents of abortion are after, really. They want people who have sex to be punished. Seventy-thousand woman die every year as a result of unsafe abortions in countries where abortion is illegal. So let's just say it, shall we? American opponents of reproductive freedom—people who seek to ban abortion—are trying to kill American women. The end.

Guess what does reduce the number of abortions? Improved access to contraception.

Fertility treatments should be made illegal and contraceptive companies should advertise all over Busted magazine http://www.bustedmagazine.com/

Along those lines - the number of abortions performed in the US went down when Bill Clinton was president. The number increased when George W. Bush was president. Why? The economy. When people feel financially secure, have access to health care, are afraid of losing their homes, etc. They are more likely to carry a pregnancy to term - even if it is unplanned.

Cause for Concern (Abortion)
Abortion poses risks to women and kills their preborn children. At its root, abortion is evidence of a lack of choices for women in unintended pregnancies as well as a societal disrespect for the value of young human life

Abortion is a two-way stab job. Abortions are risky means of birth control, plus they are definitely hazardous for the un-born.

Now-a-days, there is no such thing as safe sex. Birth control is an easy option, it's safe and effective some 99% of the time. Whether you are a Catholic or a practicing Voo-dooer, bringing a child into this world is a form of torture to the mother and the child, if it isn't wanted. If you are a woman with any integrity, INSIST your slobbering lover wear a condom! I mean it's the screwing you get for the screwing you got, if you wind up with a belly full of newborn. . . .And again, abortion isn't always the right answer; too many childless couples would love to have your child. Besides PP just wants your money.
