I've got a call in for more details, but I have to tell you this information excites me. Not only will the brick and mortar Los Gorditos be in my 'hood, but I'll also be able to enjoy the sweet burn of a Stacy burrito out of the elements and fresh from the grill. Oh, yesssss.

I expect a vegan stampede when the place opens next month.

I read that too quickly and almost had an embolism. I thought their truck at 50th and Division was closing down. Nope, it's their truck on Burnside (I didn't know they even had a cart on Burnside). Now, I want a burrito. Thanks, PAC.

Wait, so the cart stays at 50th? Because I did just freak out. But Graham, you just gave me hope. I can't tell you how many times I've waited in a downpour for my burrito wishing they had an actual restaurant... but I was hoping for something still in the neighborhood. Like maybe, say, in place of a pawn shop?

I'd always hoped they would take over the space behind their original truck, which used to be a Cricket outlet and is now a bike or skate shop or something. But this is good, too!

Graham - that other cart was on Ankeny, not Burnside.

Anyway: sweet!

I used to LOVE this place. It's a short walk from my house, (the 50th and division one), and the burritos were a) cheap, b) to die for, and c) (and more than anything else) that red/orange garlicy salsa is to DIE for.

Since then, the prices have gone up a couple of times, they've been out of said salsa - and didn't tell me until after they made my burrito; and twice in a row (the last two times I've ordered anything with meat from there) the chicken burritos came complete with... big chunks of chicken bones hidden inside!

I used to love you gorditos. I still get your bean and cheese burritos, and hope you'll have some bright orange garlic salsa for me...

but if you're brick and mortar charges even more than the latest price increases, and includes bones and lack of my favorite salsa; we're through.

On a side note, if you decide to start selling jars of that salsa, call me!
