Cops / Crime Seattle Manhunt Spirals Into Near Insanity

People are going INSANE right now in Seattle where a massive manhunt is going down for Maurice Clemmons, the suspected shooter of four Lakewood cops, who is apparently wounded and on the run in the city. Citizens are panicking about bloody pieces of gauze found on the street, "scruffy black people" are being pulled over with impunity, and even vigilantes are getting in on the action. From Dominic Holden on Slog, in a piece aptly titled, "Calm Down, People":

Officers on the police scanner say that a would-be vigilante flagged down a cop near Cowen Park. The man was carrying a handgun and wearing body armor. He apparently wanted help flush out the suspect from the park.

The police are searching a park five blocks from wehre I ate Turkey Day Dinner. I'm glad I got out of there before the 206 police went nuts.

Let me guess, the vigilante was white. If it was a black guy in body armor with a handgun flagging down police, what do you want to bet that that would have ended differently?

Interesting to note that "scruffy" black people are being hassled, when one further notes that, in the mug shot, the suspect is neat and well-groomed. Only driver's license photos are less flattering than mug shots, yet this man comes so correct in his grooming that he still looks good. So, again, why are "scruffy" black people getting so much heat, if not simply for the crime of being black?

The dude looks scruffy and obese to me. Looks like Gov. Huckabee screwed up when he commuted his sentence: a 12 year old girl was raped, a deputy was punched in the face, numerous other property crimes went undetected, and 4 police officers are dead.

I'm glad this scumbag didn't get another trial: he didn't deserve it. Nice shootin' officer!
