Best (Which is to say, "Worst") Underground Rock Festival Ever

Posted by Wm.™ Steven Humphrey on Mon, Dec 7, 2009 at 11:22 AM

Something odd happened on Saturday Night Live this weekend, in that a few skits were actually funny! Check out this one for the "Kickspit Underground Rock Festival" which builds to insane heights. (Although I would happily attend any rock show that included ventriloquist dummies on tiny stilts.)

Yo, ninjas! Check out End Hits… for reeeealz.

The problem with that skit is that it is not nearly as funny as the thing that it is spoofing.

I have to agree with caustic. SNL has people that can actually act and pretend to show emotion and stuff, so their ad has a certain logic to it. In the original, Sugar Slam looks like some 16 year old that knows nothing about ICP, (or anything else for that matter,) and is reading the entire thing from a script in the first run through. (DJ Clay is slightly better: he is 0.5/10 compared to her 0/10.)
