Election 2010 Saltzman's Seat: Come To Candidate Olympiad!

With the race for Dan Saltzman's council seat now split seven ways, the Mercury and the Bus Project have decided to put on a Brewhaha event for all seven candidates, so that you can meet and get to know them before the 1000-signature deadline for publicly financed campaigns on January 29.
- CANDIDATE OLYMPIAD: COOL RUNNINGS FOR CITY COUNCIL
We'll be using a Winter Olympics theme for the event. Events for the evening will include "Speed Skating," where each candidate has 60 seconds to introduce themselves, with a medal for the quickest. "Ice Bike" will focus on bicycling and transportation. "CRSki Jump" will focus on the Columbia River Crossing and the environment, while the "Cop Sled" round will focus on the police. In addition, each candidate will have 90 seconds to address anything they want during our "Curling" event.
Audience members will have a chance to pose questions of their own in each category. In addition, you can submit questions to us here at the Mercury in advance. See you on Thursday the 28th!
