Okay, I'm a goddamn fan of SNL's MacGruber sketches and even I didn't think the movie was a good idea. Even given the fact that the Lonely Island and SNL's Jorma Taccone was directing wasn't enough to sway my steadfast opinion on this matter. And yet: This red-band trailer makes MacGruber look like it could be pretty great. (I mean, Christ, it's got a ponytailed Val Kilmer playing a bad guy named “Dieter von Cunth.") As of now, the trailer's unembeddable (because why would a movie studio actually make it easier for people to watch their advertising? That'd be so stupid!), so click the link to check it out.

That said, I think we all know the most important element in the MacGruber film will be if Taccone & Co. manage to get a cameo out of Richard Dean Anderson*.

*They will. Dude's doing half-assed cameo parts on Stargate Universe; I'm pretty sure he can clear an afternoon to shoot a MacGruber scene.
