That Coachella Lineup Looks Pretty Damn Impressive

Posted by Ezra Ace Caraeff on Tue, Jan 19, 2010 at 9:53 AM

I know it's crowded, expensive, and far away, but this year's Coachella lineup appears to be pretty spectacular. The annual event in the desert of Indio runs from April 16-18 (tickets on sale this Friday) and features some notable performers: Sly and the Family Stone (I know Sly's brain has melted, but still I need to see this), Jay-Z, Fever Ray, "Thom Yorke????" (not Thom Yorke), Pavement, and five Portland bands (that is, if you count the Portlandish acts She & Him and The Cribs).

End Hits: So, who's going?

They should have gone for the deer trifecta and booked Deerhoof for Saturday. I probably won't go, but damned if it isn't a tempting thought.

Saw Jay-Z at All Points West last year -- rad show. Glad he's come down from Glastonbury and started doing festivals on this side of the pond.

But... Muse as a Saturday headliner? I can only assume that they are joshing us and that there'll be a last minute addition.

Incredible lineup, but its hard for me to watch favored artists perform short sets in lieu of an evening of their entertainments. That lineup has more ADD than my iTunes collection! best lineup I've seen though, props.

@Chunty: There's a lot of bands on that poster I'd like to see. I mean, Crash Test Dummies? I haven't seen them in like 12 years.

Wait, I've seen Crash Test Dummies live? I guess I did. I was on a lot of drugs in high school.
