PETA Now Officially Stands for "Porn Equals Tits and Animals"

Posted by Sarah Mirk on Wed, Jan 20, 2010 at 2:09 PM

Wow. Just when you thought PETA's ad campaigns couldn't get more offensive to women, they unveil a new website that you have to be 18 years old just to enter.

Their State of the Union Undress splices footage of the actual state of the union crowd with video of a skinny, buxom lady taking off her clothes while making sexual innuendos and vague references to veganism.

The Twitters are on fire about the new ad and I have to agree. Women using their bodies for political protest? I'm down. Using nudity to attract attention to a political issue? Hilarious and effective when done correctly. Desperately using good causes as a justification for your objectifying and alienating campaign? It makes me want to eat a cheeseburger made of spite.

Post your improved PETA acronyms in the comments—best porny new name wins a $5 gift certificate to Sweetpea vegan bakery.

Update! (5:53 pm) Oh man! You guys thought of way better acronyms than I did. Honorable mentions go to El Gordo's Purposefully Exploiting Thoughtless Activists and Wuggienorpie's Preposterous Erotica Terrorizing America and Truthypup's People for Exploiting Tits and Ass but I'm gonna go with the answer that made me laugh out loud while mooching City Hall's free wifi: C's People Enjoy Topless Apes. It brings it all around to the pro-vegan "people are animals" message. Stop by our office at 605 NE Sandy 21st to pick up your prize, C.
