Your Daily Blazer

How did one game go from so boring, to so thrilling, in just a matter of minutes?

Last night's Portland Trail Blazers 96-93 victory over the San Antonio Spurs dragged along until the waning moments of the final quarter until, all of a sudden, the Blazers came alive (like Peter Frampton) and showed themselves the way (again, like Frampton) to victory. Usually a ghost in late game situations, Martell Webster came through with a clutch three-pointer (he was five-for-five from beyond the arch on the night) that resulted in Spurs coach Gregg Popovich doing a HULK SMASH double-fisted punch atop the scorer's table. He beat that thing like a redheaded stepchild, or perhaps, this guy. The win gives the Blazers the first series sweep over the Spurs since the Clinton administration ('96-97), and greatly helps their teetering playoff chances. As if this week wasn't thrilling enough for Portland fans, Brandon Roy will be back for Saturday's game against the Lakers.

You can read the live blog here. But just a warning, the Rose Garden's interent connection died in the fourth quarter, forcing all of press row to actually watch the game instead of just updated our respective Facebook pages.

I believe tomorrow's game vs Lakers will see not only the return of Our Brandon, but also the 100th consecutive sellout crowd at the Rose Garden. Rip City Rhapsody, Baby.
