Books 2009 Nebula Finalists Announced

The final ballot for the 2009 Nebula Awards was announced this morning. Here are the finalists for best novel:
* The Windup Girl, Paolo Bacigalupi (Nightshade, Sep09)
* The Love We Share Without Knowing, Christopher Barzak (Bantam, Nov08)
* Flesh and Fire, Laura Anne Gilman (Pocket, Oct09)
* The City & The City, China Miéville (Del Rey, May09)
* Boneshaker, Cherie Priest (Tor, Sep09)
* Finch, Jeff VanderMeer (Underland Press, Oct09)
Big congrats to local house Underland Press for VanderMeer's inclusion—you can read the Mercury's review of Finch right here. (Underland also picked up the American Library Association's Best Horror Novel of the Year award for Brian Evenson's deeply creepy Last Days. See? We told you Underland was a publisher to watch.)
