Crystal Ballroom and OLCC Reach a Settlement

The Portland Tribune is reporting that the OLCC will not be suspending the liquor license of McMenamins' Crystal Ballroom anytime soon.

The Oregon Liquor Control Commission has reached a tentative settlement with McMenamins Inc. and postponed a hearing on whether the agency should strip the company’s Crystal Ballroom liquor license.

The settlement will be considered March 15 by the OLCC board of commissioners, said Christie Scott, OLCC spokeswoman. Details of the settlement won’t be revealed until then, Scott said.

Wonder what the details of the settlement were? A basket of cheesy fries from Ringlers and a promise that no one will get shot outside the club? Actually, as someone who often spends a few nights a week in that venue, I've always found the Crystal to be extremely well-run and was surprised to hear about the OLCC's threat to strip them of their liquor license. Glad to see the club and the OLCC working together on this.

End Hits: Does Ringlers even serve cheesy fries?
