First Police Contract Negotiation Next Friday

Posted by Matt Davis on Fri, Mar 5, 2010 at 3:40 PM

Mark your calendars, folks. The first bargaining session between the city and the Portland Police Association over the police contract will be taking place next Friday, March 12, at 9am, in HR1—a conference room on the second floor of the downtown Portland Building.

There's no formal agenda for the meeting, but scheduling, logistics, and the broad scope of the talks will be worked out. It will be interesting to see whether police commissioner Dan Saltzman shows at the meeting. It's his first real opportunity to bargain for tougher discipline for rogue cops. Or if the meeting is left to the city's human resources flacks.

See you there.
