Atomic Arts' Trek in the Park was one of the highlights of last summer (you can read what I thought of it here). This summer, they'll be back with the classic episode "Space Seed"—and they just announced the roles that wannabe Trek actors can audition for. I've said it before and I'll say it again: CURSE MY INABILITY TO SPEAK WITH A SCOTTISH BROGUE.

Lt. Marla McGivers: Female. The historian on the Enterprise. She is obsessed with the great conquerers and war heroes of the past. It is no surprise she has a particular interest in Khan, perceived as one of the greatest and most mysterious warriors of 20th century Earth. So interested, she betrays her crew and peers to be at Khan’s side for his next conquest. This role will have sides provided at the audition.

Montgomery Scott (Scotty): Male. A man of great ingenuity, technical prowess, and warm hearted friend to have around. The Chief engineer of the Enterprise has the reputation of a “miracle worker”. Scottish accent is a MUST. This role will have sides provided at the audition.

Khan’s followers (3): We will need 1 female and 2 males for these roles. If you have any stunt/stage combat experience or any cool physical special skill that is definitely a plus. Please bring a 1-2 min prepared dramatic monologue to the audition.

Red shirt: Male. We will need someone with some stunt/stage combat experience because, you guessed it, you’re gonna die! Please bring a 1-2 min prepared dramatic monologue to the audition.

Interested in trying out? Of course you are. More info at Atomic Arts!

Not to be overly cynical, but I presume that someone paid royalties to the screenwriter for this performance?

not to be overly obvious, but I presume they're not making any money off of the performance - it's just for fun - so who gives a s**t if they payed royalties. Also, since they aren't making money off of it, they don't have to pay royalties. What are you the royalty police, or some IP lawyer douche, or just someone who wants to be a damper on the good time. Royalties... bleh.

WTF? Another Royalies Troll?

Why? Why? Why is there ALWAYS a Royalties troll on this site?

Well, enough banter, when is the show? I'm hoping it's the same weekends as last year, worked excellent as a launch to birthday/anniversary weekend

I wonder if anytime a community college puts on a Tennessee Williams play, someone shows up and asks if they paid him (or his estate) royalties. lol And community colleges usually charge admission! Those thieves! Pickpockets of the human imagination! :P lol
