Hey, it's not my plain-jane title. "Cool Art" is the name of a new poster art series co-presented by Stand Up Comedy and PICA. You can hit that Cool Art link all you want, but the site doesn't go live until April 1, the same day that it launches at SUC (811 E Burnside) with a reception from 7-9 pm (use this one for now). They're not dropping many clues to the project of "artist posters and exhibitions in morphing configurations" other than the list of artists: Noam Rappaport, Santiago Cucullu, Lucas DeGuilio, Matt Connors, Matthew Higgs and Amy Yao. The project's being helmed by Rob Halverson, a veteran of PICA's TBA fest with his 2007 group show Space is A Place. (Stand Up Comedy's Rachel Silberstein was among the artists he curated into the show.) Given the tastes of everyone involved, this is intriguing enough to warrant a jog over to the inner eastside on your First Thursday rounds. And for chrissakes look at how awesome this Henrik Vibskov chair cover for sale at SUC is. I need six.
