Please Tase Me, Bro

Posted by January "the intern" Vawter on Mon, Apr 12, 2010 at 1:13 PM

A Colorado sheriff's deputy has been suspended after using his taser on at least 30 students during a job fair. In his defense, they were asking for it. The students "wanted to know what it felt like" to be subdued by the long arm of the law.

According to the New York Daily News:

Officials say some students suffered burns of varying degrees when the Taser was applied to their legs. At least one student was treated at a hospital. Authorities are considering whether to file criminal charges.

Way to set the bar, Colorado. PPB will certainly have to up the crazy now.

And did you see the way they were dressed? Their convulsions were saying "no," but their lightly smoldering t-shirts were saying "put it in my ass!"

No wonder the police are getting such mixed messages!

The police officer should have established a safety word first then tased the kids...something like banana or kumquat

Haha. I like it - I'd love to taser a kid until he correctly said the word 'banana."

It looks to me that the spotlight is on the Deputy and his lack of good judgment. But my question is, “ where were all of the school teachers when this was happening? “ I mean come on. You don’t taser 30 students, some of them multiple times, in a second or two. Oh I’m sorry Mrs. Jones I turned my back just for a moment or two and your child was tasered.

Who are these people teaching your kids? Let’s put equal blame on the school and THEIR lack of good judgment as well!

It’s a shame that the self-defense item is going to receive a black eye because of this also. These products were designed to give a person a non-lethal way to defend themselves against attackers. They are very effective and have helped thousands of people. I take pride in making these items available to responsible people.
