If Bridgetown were still going on, I'd be going every night. But it's over, even if I'm not over it.
After a little breather, it's time to get back on the comedy horse, and this month's edition of Comedy is OK is as good a chance as any. In fact, it's kind of an opportunity to set things straight for Andrew Michaan and Mikey Kampmann, who's Comedy is OK theme show at Bridgetown was hijacked by a bumping loud prom happening directly above them at Bridgetown.
The direction of Comedy is OK is simple: local comedians of varying styles. "The message we're trying to bring with show is: if you've been to a bad comedy show, we're sorry," says Michaan. For more background, see last month's profile.
Otherwise, grab five bucks and meet me at the Clinton St. Theater. This lineup, featuring two of my very favorite local comics, Richard Bain and Phil Shallberger, is solid. And who knows, maybe some extra surprises are on the docket—last time the Voodoo Donuts truck pulled up to greet folks as the show let out (nice touch, boys).
COMEDY IS OK: Thursday, May 6th @ Clinton St. Theatre. 9:00PM. $5.
Featuring: Richard Bain, Nathan Brannon, Phil Schallberger, Travis Jones, dalas verdugo (his name is purposely all lowercase), Music by Thuggage, and video commercials from our new sponsors!! featuring Christian Ricketts and Paul Schlesinger
