Film J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg Team Up for Super 8.

In theaters this weekend, playing in front of Iron Man 2, is the teaser for Super 8, the latest top-secret project from J.J. Abrams. Just as the mysterious teaser for the Abrams-produced Cloverfield showed up, without warning, in front of Transformers—instantly going viral and intriguing the hell out of people—nobody had even heard of Super 8 until a few days ago.
Despite a ton of speculation about Super 8 on various nerd sites, all anybody seems to know for sure about Super 8 is that Abrams teamed up with Spielberg for this one, and the two have been working in secret on it for a little while now. (I know much shit is talked about both of those dudes, but the idea of them working together still raises my geek serotonin to fairly unsafe levels.) That level of mystery is pretty much exactly what Abrams wants, I'm guessing, and it's a welcome relief from the way studios usually do things.
