"Witnesses heard ten to 15 shots, then a pause, then two more shots," Tweets Anita Kissee from Katu. Also: "Traffic stop. Police say man started fighting with. Pulled out gun and fired. Cop returned fire. Undercover det. Seen cruising area before." "Not clear if fight in or out of car. Man on street corner at NE 6th and NE Halsey."
Bizarrely, the police bureau also put out this release just now:

There's no wireless where Sarah is but she's going to call in if there's a press conference. Michael Russell at the Oregonian has a little more, but information is sparse.
