Jesse Cornett's Unsmoked Cigars

Posted by Matt Davis on Tue, May 18, 2010 at 8:34 PM

The Rolling Stones are playing You Can't Always Get What You Want on the radio, and these have stayed, un-smoked, in the desk drawer.

Yeah...this will go down as one of the biggest flops of the election season and a perfect example of how not to spend $150,000. I can't believe he's in 4th as of right now.

$150,000/4536 votes = $33 per vote.

WOW.

Hey Merc Bloggers,

Congrats for decimating the person who came in 2nd place.

You deserve Saltzman.

Cornett didn't demonstarte anything in this race beyond the skill of pandering. Voters don't find pandering attractive. Saltzman is far from perfect, but Cornett was never really a serious opponent.

When I saw the initial numbers, I did feel bad for Mr. Cornett as a person. According to the numbers online now, he does have 893 more votes in Multnomah Co. than Rudy Soto. But, still third place behind Volm and Saltzman. Cornett also picked up 9 votes in Clackamas Co., and 6 in Washington Co., in areas that are part of the City of Portland but not Multnomah Co. So, $150,000/7821 votes = ~$19.179 per vote. According to the figures they're still counting ballots, so the numbers will most likely change again.

BTW, Jason Barbour posted some numbers: $39/5706 votes = about .68 cents per vote. Thank you, Portland voters who voted for me. :)
