Bob Stacey rocked the early returns in Multnomah County for the Metro President race, taking 37 percent of the vote versus 29.85 percent for Rex Burkholder and 31.8 percent for the more centrist candidate Tom Hughes.

But the big question is how liberal Stacey fared outside the Portland bubble. Since Washington County's election's website is essentially nonfunctional (curse you!), it took a phone call to Washington County HQ to find out the early results. Big surprise: even out in WashCo, they lean toward Stacey over Rex. While Hughes walloped with 47 percent of the vote, Stacey snagged 28 percent to Burkholder's 23 percent. Ouch.
