Music Courtney Love Hates Portland

Okay, maybe that headline is a little dramatic. This weekend we posted this tasty morsel of gossip that Hole was playing a last minute show at the Roseland on Wednesday night. Lies! Turns out that the show was this close to being confirmed—yet close enough to change the marquee—before falling through. Courtney Love, not reliable? I know, it's news to us as well.

Rumor on the street is that Courtney and company will be back later this Summer.

End Hits: This delay will allow for Portland dealers to stock up on their supplies. I mean Portland car dealers. What else could I have possibly meant?

No, the fact is Portland hates Courtney (as you know if you were involved in music here in the late 90s or before)
She hasn't had the guts to come back since bailing on a tour sometime in the early part of this decade.

I don't think she bailed ever, but she left a concert midway through at the Rose Garden because almost nobody showed up and the audience was apparently not enjoying it. She should have continued, but whatever. She does what she wants. And I don't think she hates Portland at all, either. She grew up here and was a regular at the Satyricon back in the day, went to PSU for awhile, worked at strip clubs, etc.— so she's local. She and Kurt met here, for christsake!
