The Microbial Soup Dinner Jacket

All you need to make this fetching little wardrobe staple are "at least a couple of bathtubs, some yeast, a pinch of bacteria, and several cups of sweetened green tea." This is an example of "BioCotoure" or "biofilm wearables," currently on display at the London Science Museum. Designer Suzanne Lee has been busy developing this "grow your own" approach to clothing made from bacteria as Senior Research Fellow in the School of Fashion/Textiles at Central Saint Martins, so maybe someday her experiments will trickle down to some practical application in the textile industry, or maybe it will just remain a cool/weird trick. Either way it's pretty impressive:
