Hooray for Women and their Voting.

Posted by Sarah Mirk on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 2:59 PM

Today is the 90th anniversary of the 19th Amendment was ratified by a single vote! I'm pretty proud of having a 100 percent voting record, having never missed a primary or general election since I turned 18 despite having moved states four times, changed addresses eight times, and twice registered to vote on the last possible day. Thank you, thank you.

If you're looking for old timey inspiration, Buzzfeed has a cool collection of suffragette photos up. For more modern victories of democracy, remember that in Oregon you can now register to vote online.
