New Venue Alert (Sort Of): The Bing Lounge

Like KEXP for your parents, KINK-FM has been known to bring in some great (Neko Case) and terrible (Big Head Todd and the Monsters) artists into their lounge for live sessions. Now their parent company, Alpha Broadcasting, has teamed with the search engine no one uses, Microsoft's Bing, to launch The Bing Lounge.

Bada Bing, take it away press release:

Alpha Broadcasting President/COO Bob Proffitt today announced a partnership with Bing at the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art Live Performance Lounge at the Pac West Center, now officially called The Bing Lounge. At a press conference from The Bing Lounge, Proffitt unveiled the new venue and line-up of artists for the debut week with Danielle Tiedt, General Manager of Marketing for Bing at Microsoft. First to take the stage today is Columbia Records recording artists, Five for Fighting. Following on, Wednesday (Aug. 25) will be Melissa Etheridge, Crowded House on Thursday (Aug. 26) and the Doobie Brothers on Friday (Aug. 27).

Although it sounds like a strip club, the Bing Lounge will be located downtown (1211 SW 5th Ave) and offer up about 80 live sessions a year to an invite-only audience of KINK listeners. The capacity is cozy 164 and all shows will be filmed and available 24 hours after the performance. If I don't see footage of the Doobies within a day's time, I'll kill myself.

End Hits: Hey, two Doobie Brothers posts in a single day!

I'm sorry, did you say the Binge Lounge? I'm already there.

Very informative press release:
1> Bing is still online.
2> Kink FM is still exists.
3> Columbia Records one of the RIAA racketeers is foisting a bunch of my grandma's favorites. No wonder they want to require FM radio chips in all future devices.

GAWD even Grandma and the homeless have MP3 players now.

This reads like EZRA CARAEFF is working for WillyWeek. What next buggie whip reviews ?
