Breaking News About the New Film from Nicolas Winding Refn CHRISTINA HENDRICKS.

Posted by Erik Henriksen on Thu, Sep 9, 2010 at 4:58 PM

  • Why yes, I am awesome at photoshop.

Nicolas Winding Refn directed Bronson and Valhalla Rising, and is pretty handily one of my new favorite filmmakers. (Even if I was less keen on Valhalla than Bronson, I'll still happily watch the hell out anything the guy does.) AICN has the news on his American debut, which just so happens to feature my everyone's favorite Mad Men and Firefly actress:

The director of the well-worth-watching Pusher trilogy, Bronson, and Valhalla Rising has just added Mad Men's Christina Hendricks to the cast of Drive. Based on a novel by James Sallis, the film will star Ryan Gosling as a Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a wheelman in the L.A. criminal underworld. When a particular job goes down twisted, he's forced to protect the endangered girlfriend (Carey Mulligan) of an ex-con.

AICN also says the film will feature Bryan Cranston and Albert Brooks, which makes this one hell of a cast with one hell of a director AND, presumably, copious amounts of what I believe the kids these days call "Tokyo drifting." Sign me up.
