It Was Inevitable

Posted by Dan Savage on Tue, Sep 28, 2010 at 4:21 PM

A "bible-based response to the It Gets Better Project" was just posted to YouTube...

When Jesus comes back—cough, cough—he should sue his douchebagiest believers for defamation:

"Billy Lucus, who hanged himself, obviously because he was gay, and unable to endure the guilt that the words of others prompted in him. This was indeed a tragedy, but not anywhere near the tragedy that Billy will discover in eternity when he faces the wrath of God upon rebellious and unrepentant sinners. Then, he will realize that his sin could not be atoned for by his own death, and he will realize that people like Dan Savage who encourage sin are deceivers. He will see them for what they are, the blind leading the blind. And he will realize that he has fallen into that ditch that the blind leading the blind inevitably fall into: that's eternal destruction and misery. Sadly, it's too late for Billy. For those who are viewing this video, however, their remains the opportunity of turning from sin to the obedience of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ."

What can you possibly say in response to that kind of hate—the kind of hate that drove Billy Lucas to suicide—besides, of course, "Fuck you and the bible verses you rode in on, you monstrously hateful pile of shit." And, you know, when I listen to a grown man fantasize about a 15 year old boy being tormented in hell for all eternity, three little words pop to mind: John Wayne Gacy. The resemblance in this case is striking.

Contemplating the kind of human garbage who would take the time to make and post this video fills me with sputtering, incomprehensible rage.

I have never seen a more closeted Bear in my life. And I grew up around travel agents in the eighties.

On this I can agree with the grotesque meat sack speaking in this video -- I, too, would have made a point of leaving the camera out of focus if I looked that way. That was a good choice; I trust this was the least-focused setting available.

As for the rest, the meat-sack can go suck himself (off camera - please). This is the sort of bigotry and idiocy that almost makes me wish a god did exist just so he/she/it could beam down from heaven and make this crap-sack allergic to the oil they use in Frito-Lay products and/or forget when the Pepperidge Farm sampler tray is active at the mall and/or find himself in all the same public bathrooms as Larry "I've never been gay" Craig for the rest of his days. No, strike that last one -- he'd almost certainly want that one.

If it wasn't for Dan Savage I would never have know about this guy or saw this video. Way to spread the hate.

This is like everyone who promoted that tiny church nutcase who wanted to burn the Koran.

The first rule of usenet is ignore the troll and they will go away.

Here's what you can say: Everybody knows you Bible-frotters are nothing more than a bunch of closeted homos to begin with, and Jesus is nothing more than your Cher. If that doesn't make folks like this spontaneously combust, it should at least shut 'em up for a while...

"And speaking from God's point of view" says it all.
Dude's got a "no one loved me until someone told me God did, so I'll speak for God now" complex.
And quoting Leviticus is about as original as slicing bread.

And denying debate is hypocritical, but laughingly so- there's debate within the bible if you don't hand pick the verses...poor guy, he lives in a small world and wants people to join him. Fear him, yeah, but pity seems the most appropriate, hating that much and not knowing it is soul destroying.

Did Richard Dawkins orchestrate that clever propaganda piece? After watching that, I have both an intellectual boner for atheism and greater certainty that we evolved from amorphous sea blobs.

That guy hates 15 year old gay kids so much that he just can't stop thinking about hot 15 year old gay kids having all kinds of crazy 15 year old gay sex all day long.

These comments are just the sort of non-intellectual drivel you might expect from people who can't argue the issue rationally but must resort to a junior high level of communication to try to avoid them. Why doesn't even one person answer this mans call for a public debate??? Quick answer, fear of exposure as imbeciles.
