Admittedly, I was pretty apathetic about the prospect of a Spider-Man reboot—but combine this weekend's news of Stone's casting with the fact that Andrew Garfield (The Social Network, Red Riding: 1974, Never Let Me Go) is gonna be Peter Parker, and hell, there are the makings of something pretty spectacular* here. I can only hope another of Deadline's casting rumors is true:

Early unconfirmed talk: they want to bring back Venom and they are looking at Philip Seymour Hoffman.

I don't even know if that would be great or terrible, but I totally want to see it.
