You Should Watch This: Sherlock

Posted by Wm.™ Steven Humphrey on Tue, Nov 9, 2010 at 2:29 PM

Forget that AWFUL adaptation starring Robert Downey Jr, and check out one of my new fave shows of the season: Sherlock on Masterpiece Mystery (PBS, Sundays, 9 pm). Based on Arthur Conan Doyle's master detective, Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) has been updated to crack crimes in modern London with his blogging pal Dr. Watson (Martin Freeman from the British version of The Office). Naturally, I was wildly dubious about the idea of bringing Sherlock Holmes into the Twitter age, but this show is smart, funny, stylish, a bit winky, and moves at the speed of lightning. Check out this trailer:

A second season is already in the works, but for you broadcast Luddites, you can catch up by watching all the episodes online here.
