So tonight's First Thursday artwalk is packed full of opportunities to put some money towards a good cause— and, if you're lucky, take care of a little holiday shopping while doing the do-good.

Starting tonight and running through Saturday, December 4, The Goodfoot (2845 SE Stark) is hosting the third annual Big 100 Art Show, featuring over 125 local artists. Each artist made 15 pieces, all are priced at $50, and after you pay you can walk away with your purchase (rather than waiting until the end of the month). A little twist: all artwork is hung unlabeled, so if you've got a good eye, you could snag an Emek, Dan Ness, Chuck Bloom, etc., on the cheap. "Portions of [the] overall proceeds" benefit the Cascade AIDS Project, while donations of canned food will be taken at the door and distributed between the Oregon Food Bank and the Rose Senior Center. That's like three opportunities to do something philanthropic, all at once. But the do-gooding doesn't stop here! There's much more do-gooding to be done!

Both Floating World Comics and the Bossanova Ballroom are hosting benefits for individuals in need. Floating World's Spacenite 2— A Tribute to Bill Mantlo will raise money for Bill Mantlo, creator of the ROM Spaceknight comic series. Mantlo, as the press release tells us, "was tragically paralyzed in a hit and run accident over 15 years ago." All the work in the show is inspired by the Mantlo's ROM imagery and prints will be for sale on site (original artwork will go to auction on eBay at the end of the month). Floating World is at 20 NW 5th Ave, the show opens from 6-10 pm, and you can check out a full list of participating artists here.

Bossanova Ballroom (722 E Burnside) is hosting Jam for Am, a benefit for local photographer Amaren Colosi, who, as the flyer for the show states, "is in the process of kicking cancer's ass." There's a silent auction at 7 pm, and music by Old Growth, Mean Jeans, Science of Yabra, and Guantanamo Baywatch starts at 8:30 pm. According to Ultra, artists participating in the silent auction include "Ryan Dobrowski, Courtney Blazon, Robin Carlyle, John Bennett, Jolie Allen Goodson, Virginia Flynn, Leah Nash, Terry Colossi, Troy Kleybey, Jay Stewart, David Kilpatrick, Michael Beach and Wendy Swartz." Admission is on sliding scale, running from $10-20.

Are you doing anything charitable tonight? If so, tell us about it in the comments!
