Just minutes ago, the jury in the Woodburn bank bombing case found father and son Bruce and Joshua Turnidge guilty on all counts of their aggravated murder charges.

The 2008 bombing killed two police officers and injured another and a bank employee. I blogged about the Turnidge case last week, drawing parallels between their politically-motivated bombing of the Woodburn bank and Mohamed Osman Mohamud's alleged bomb plot at Pioneer Square. As I noted then, it seems like domestic right-wing violence is not viewed with the same fear as potential violent threats from Muslims: though the Turnidges discussed bombing a bank more than 50 times, according to state witnesses, no one thought to tip off the FBI. When charges were filed against the pair, they didn't mention terrorism at all, though the prosecutors in this case made the Bruce Turnidge's anti-government rants and attempts to start an anti-government militia a centerpiece of the murder trial.
