Senate Kills "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Repeal

Posted by Sarah Mirk on Thu, Dec 9, 2010 at 2:32 PM

Today in Republican fuckery: The Senate is three votes short of repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

This is especially galling and out of step because just weeks ago, the Pentagon released the results of a long-term study showing that two-thirds of service members don't think it wold hurt the military to have gays openly serve.

I did a profile of local Portland gay veterans last spring. As Vancouver, WA resident and decorated Air Force veteran Ron Rasmussen said then, "There should be no unwanted patriots."
