Gail O'Hara in Attendance at Tonight's Screening of Strange Powers

Posted by Alison Hallett on Fri, Dec 10, 2010 at 11:22 AM

Gail O'Hara, the PDX-based co-director of Strange Powers: Stephin Merritt and the Magnetic Fields, will be on hand for a Q&A after tonight's 7 pm screening at the Hollywood.

O'Hara was a co-founder of chickfactor magazine in 1992—she's been the "official photographress" of the Magnetic Fields since 1994.

(Go look at portraits she's done for chickfactor, if you like the '90s and indie rock girls.)

I reviewed Strange Powers this week—nutshell, brilliant concert footage (disclaimer, I count them among the best live bands I've ever seen) and interesting insights into Merritt's creative process. (It also made me realize that my Most Awkward Interview Ever™ with Merritt actually wasn't that bad, relatively speaking—at one point in the film, Merritt dodges a question by changing the subject to the interviewer's shoes.)
