Another week, another Mercury music section to spit-take your coffee at when you read about Jon Bon Jovi being appointed to the White House Council for Community Solutions. Does that mean the position of Secretary of Livin' on a Prayer is still available? I'd like to apply for that job.

With The Unfazed, Al James of Dolorean makes the finest record of his career. He also takes a promo photo atop a motorcycle, something I recommend for all bands. It worked wonders for these guys.
LISTEN:

Dolorean - "Country Clutter"

The John Grant story has it all—homophobia, cocaine, syphilis, and rock and roll.
LISTEN:

John Grant - "Silver Platter Club"

Mysterious metal pioneers Agalloch speak about their fine new album, Marrow of the Spirit.
LISTEN:

Agalloch - "Ghosts Of The Midwinter Fires"

One of our new favorite local acts, Brittle Bones emerged from the ashes of Heart Beats Red and Skeleton Coast to make an inspiring, and just plain fun, self-titled debut.
LISTEN:

Brittle Bones - "You Wannit"

Don't mess with Frivolous. Dude has an "electromagnetic" chef's knife and he ain't afraid to cut you. Punk.
LISTEN:

Frivolous - "C:\ My Consciousness"

End Hits: Tico Torres in 2012!
