David O. Russell Confronted by Creepy Uncharted Fan

Posted by Scott "the Intern" Younker on Mon, Dec 20, 2010 at 2:58 PM

Fans of the PS3 game Uncharted were upset when it was released that Mark Wahlberg was cast as the main character Nathan Drake. David O. Russell, the film's director—who's famous for films like Three Kings and The Fighter—also infuriated fans when he said he envisioned the cast as a "family of treasure hunters."

For those of you who don't know, there is no family of treasure hunters in the game, and Wahlberg doesn't really have the comedic timing to be Nathan Drake.

Anyway, the internet wanted Nathan Fillion, of Castle and Firefly fame, to play Drake. One fan took it into his own hands and confronted Russell about the casting choice during a premiere for The Fighter.

I'm not sure if I'm rooting for the guy in the video or not. I agree that Fillion should be Drake but I also respect Russell as a filmmaker (except for I Heart Huckabees which was pretentious at best and selfish at worst).
