The name of the
alleged bouncer of the 915 Club who was shot in a New Year altercation has been released by the Portland Medical Examiner's office as Ruben Mata, age 32, according to the O. It has yet to be officially confirmed whether or not Mata was a bouncer at the club. Portland Police have confirmed that Mata was a bouncer at the 915 Club.
The second officer on the scene who fired his weapon during the incident has yet to be identified, but is thought to be a member of the traffic division, and remains on administrative leave as per bureau directive. According to KATU, Mayor Sam Adams said "the Portland Police officer did not intend to fire his weapon and the officer's bullet did not hit anyone."
And as reported yesterday, 31-year-old Kevin Charles Moffett, 31, has been arrested and is the chief suspect in the slaying.
