In the most delicious news I've heard today, the Dill Pickle Club has put together a fundraising event that pits eight of the city's most exciting eateries against each other to determine which is the "Pickler of the Year": Beast, Chop Butchery, DOC, Le Happy, Navarre, Olympic Provisions, Salt Fire & Time, and Unbound Pickling. The contenders' pickled foodstuffs will be judged by Dave of Dave's Killer Bread, Courtney Din of Din Din Catering, as well as the Mercury's own food critic Tony Perez. (JEALOUS.) And then—this is the important part—the pickled num-nums will be opened up for sampling (!!!!!) and auctioned off by AC Dickson. There will also be beer, music from Marisa Anderson, Orca Team, and DJ Cuica, and the whole shebang will be emceed by comedian Mikey Kampmann "alongside guest appearances by local celebrities." Delicious.
It's going down on Monday, Feb 7 at the Ace Hotel.
