This Week's Mercury Music Section

Posted by Ezra Ace Caraeff on Thu, Jan 13, 2011 at 11:29 AM

Another week, another Mercury music section to ignore while you crunch the sales figures of Pitchfork's Top 50 albums of 2010. Huh, I would have thought Deerhunter sold more than that.

Not that long ago the Head and the Heart were playing open mics and busking at a fish market. Now the Seattle band is freshly signed with Sub Pop and ready to take over the globe.

The Head and the Heart - "Down In the Valley"

The timeless pop of midwestern duo Peter Wolf Crier. Wait, duo? I thought it was just one man with an incredible name.

Peter Wolf Crier - "Down Down Down"

Chomp! Chomp! Chomp! Crocodiles are the scariest thing to come from San Diego since Jewel. Know why she lived in her van? Because she was on the run from the law, that's why.

Crocodiles - "Stoned To Death"

Therapsits are punk as fuck. That means they can't be trusted to show up for our scheduled interview. Day planners are total sellouts, man.

Therapsits - "I Don't Like Myself"

End Hits: Punk as fudge.
